CONSTITUTION: This surface-treated steel sheet has a film contg. an org. sulfur compd. having a heterocyclic structure and >=3 mercapto groups on a zinc-base plating film. The surface-treated steel sheet is produced by applying an aq. soln. contg. an org. sulfur compd. having a heterocyclic structure and >=3 mercapto groups and kept at pH1.5 to 4.5 on the surface of a galvanized steel sheet and then drying the sheet or by dipping the sheet in the aq. soln. and then drying the sheet.
