Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To prevent a substantial thermal contraction from occurring caused by heating of a thermal head at the time of transfer and consequently, make almost free from the generation of a curl after image formation, eliminate any trouble attributable to the curling as in a conventional thermal transfer sheet and provide excellent lubricity. CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer sheet 1 is composed of a receptor layer 5 which receives dye immigrated from a thermal transfer medium at the time of heating, on a base material 4. In addition, the base material 4 consists of a synthetic paper 2 attached to one surface of a core material 3, and the receptor layer 5 is provided on the synthetic paper 2 side of the base material 4 directly or through an intermediate layer. At the same time, a resin layer 6 is provided on the side where the synthetic paper 2 is not attached of the core material 3.
