COMPOSITE PANEL

PURPOSE: To obtain a composite panel having an end surface excellent in strength and water resistance by integrally fixing a plane fastener to the end surface of a composite panel by embedding the engaging projections of the fastener in the foam exposed to the end surface of the panel. CONSTITUTION: Flat panels 2a, 2b composed of a synthetic resin are laminated and fixed to both upper and rear surfaces of a sheet like core material 1 composed of synthetic resin foam. Plane fasteners 3a, 3b are fixed to the end surfaces of the sheet like core material 1. The plane fasteners are mushroom tapes and a large number of engaging projections 4 composed of mushroom- shaped piles are embedded in the sheet like core material 1 to firmly fix the plane fasteners 3a, 3b. Since this composite panel is reinforced at the end surface parts thereof without being damaged in lightweight properties, the end surfaces thereof are hard to damage and excellent in water resistance. Therefore, the composite panel is suitably used in a building field and can be used as a substitute of a building material such as plywood.
