Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of the holding mechanism of an end frame and reduce the cost. CONSTITUTION: A rotatively driven cutter head is fitted at the front section of a cylindrical excavator main body (front barrel, middle barrel, and rear barrel 13) having multiple propulsion jacks, and a ring-like end frame 24 is closely stuck to the outer periphery of an existing formwork 22 at the rear. The excavator main body (rear barrel 13) and the end frame 24 are rockably connected by multiple rocking cylinders 51-58 in this tunnel excavator. Multiple rocking cylinders 51-58 are arranged in the peripheral direction of the end frame 24 to form an inclined truss-shaped parallel-link mechanism 61.
