Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To easily remove a lubricating oil film without causing roughness to be caused on metal surface by setting the amount of calcium or the compound thereof adhering to the surface at a value equal to or less than the specified value, regarding a drawn metallic tube machined for a substantial cross sectional area drop rate at the first drawing process. CONSTITUTION: The fracture of a tube material at a cold drawing process is attributable to calcium or the compound thereof adhering to the surface of the material. Regarding a metallic tube for the heavy drawing process where a cross sectional area drop rate is equal to 30% or more at the first drawing process, therefore, calcium or the compound thereof adhering to the surface of the tube is set at 0.005mg/dm or less on an average. For this purpose, ion exchange water is used as cooling water, or a surface polishing and grinding process is provided as a machining process after cooling a hot drawn tube. Also, the deposition depth of calcium or the compound thereof is kept at 10μm or less from the outermost tube surface, thereby further preventing a drawn fracture.
