ARCHITECTURAL FIRE RESISTIVE PANEL

PURPOSE: To provide a desirable fire resistance even with a plate having thin thickness by forming a coating layer, which formes, when it is heated, an expanded fire retardant layer at least on one surface of a rigid base plate. CONSTITUTION: A coating material in the form of a viscous fluid is applied to the surface of a base plate 10 having rigidity to form a coating layer 30. At that moment, a primer treatment 31 is applied to the boudary between the layer 30 and the plate 10 to provide a sufficient joint strength. And when the layer 30 is porous or the coating material itself has low water resistance, or for use in a humid environment, the layer 30 is covered with a waterproofing layer 60. And a finishing layer 50 is formed to improve the layer 30. Thus in the case of a fire, a carbide is formed in the layer 30 by heat and also an expanding agent is expanded so that a fire retardant layer 20 having required thickness comprising expanded carbide is produced. As a result, a thermal insulating plate is not needed and hence required fire resistance can be obtained using a thin plate.
