Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To fort efficiently fruits or the like to be sorted without damaging the same. CONSTITUTION: The width of a conveyer belt 2 having the expansibility in the width direction is changed according to the engaging relationship between eyelet fittings 6 of the side edges 2b, 2c of a conveyer belt 2 and hook members displaced widthwise of the belt on the basis of a change in the shape of a guide rail. Openings 2a having the long diameter in the longitudinal direction are changed in the shape by the change in the belt width. Sorted articles are dropped through the openings 2a according to the change in the shape to sort the articles according to the shape thereof. The sorted articles dropped through the opening 2a of the conveyer belt 2 are caught by a carrier belt conveyer means 8 to be transported to a predetermined position.
