MANUFACTURE OF CYLINDRICAL COVER

PURPOSE: To provide a method for manufacturing a cylindrical cover having excellent external appearance and high quality with high productivity. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a cylindrical cover comprises the steps of arranging a plastic tape 32 while guiding it to a wider plastic foamed sheet 13 than the tape inward at a predetermined distance from the surface of one side edge of the sheet toward the longitudinal center line so that the longitudinal directions of the sheet 13 is directed in the same direction and both the surfaces are opposed, placing the tape in a tape placing area extended longitudinally, further, laminating the tape to the sheet by adhering the side edge area extended inward of the lateral direction from the one side edge of the tape to the adhering area corresponding to the tape placing area, molding both the opposed ends in a cylindrical molded form 14 by thermally fusion-bonding while opposing the ends of both the side edges of the sheet via a molding die 54 while bending the sheet at the tape placing outside, and forming a slit at the molded form along the adhered part of the tape.
