Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: To prevent the air oxidation of molten steel in a mold by rising inert gas at the center part in the long side direction of the mold. CONSTITUTION: The gas is blown on the molten metal surface in the vertical direction along the mold surface from the short side block sides at the right and the left parts of the mold in order to form the ideal eddy gas stream in the mold, and it is desirable to rise the gas stream from the center part by flowing the inert gas toward the center part of the length direction of a cast slab from the short side block sides. Then, since then entrapment of the air is caused from the upper part of the mold when the diameter of the eddy gas stream becomes larger than the distance between the molten metal surface and the upper end part of the mold, it is necessary that the diameter of the eddy gas stream is smaller than the distance between the molten surface and the upper end part of the mold. For this purpose, the gas blowing position is desirable to blow vertically to the molten metal surface from the position whose height from the molten metal surface is |
