Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To obtain the DNA containing a base sequence estimated to control the expression of the aromatase of a bird, especially chicken or Japanese quail, and useful for preferentially making up the cock or the hen. CONSTITUTION: A DNA containing the sequence of the formula or its one part (but excluding a DNA whose base sequence is a base sequence having a base number of 1914 to 2973) or its complimentary chain. The DNA is obtained by multiplying a part of the structural gene for the aromatase of a chicken, etc., by a PCR method, labeling with an isotope, screening the genom DNA library of the chicken, etc., with the labeled product as a probe, and subsequently determining the base sequence of the obtained long DNA containing the aromatase gene of the chicken, etc. The aromatase-related DNA of the bird can control the expression of the aromatase gene of the bird, control the sex of the bird, and search the sex-determining gene of the bird.
