MANUFACTURE OF CERAMIC COMPACT

PURPOSE: To prevent a thin film from breaking and improve fractional defect at the centrifugal molding of a ceramic compact having a complicated undercut shape out of slurry without pollution. CONSTITUTION: An assembly consists of a mold 12 having undercuts, a thin film 9, which is expandably attached to the pouring port and made of a green rubber dipping solution, a tube 15, which fixes the peripheral edge of the thin film and in which a slurry 18 is housed and a rigid structure, in which the above-mentioned mold, the thin film and the tube are housed. By filling the slurry 18 in a cavity 16 formed by the thin film and the tube 15 and then expanding the thin film by centrifugal force, the slurry is charged in the cavity 13 of the mold so as to precipitate and solidify into a compact. During the process for manufacturing the compact by melting the mold after being taken out of the rigid structure together with the mold, a thin film nearly similar to the mold is used.
