TUNDISH FOR CONTINUOUSLY CASTING MOLTEN STEEL AND CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD USING SAME

PURPOSE: To provide a tundish for continuously casting molten steel which efficiently removes non-metallic inclusion in the molten steel in the tundish and executes refining of the molten steel as the necessity, and a continuous casting method using this tundish. CONSTITUTION: At least two or more of molten steel pools 7a, 7b are arranged between a pouring nozzle 3 and a steel discharging hole 5 in the tundish 1, and at least one or more of the spouting hole 9 is arranged on a partition wall existing between these pools. A flow-down part or a dropping part 10a of the molten steel is formed in the spouting hole 9 so that the molten steel spouted from the spouting hole 9 can be brought into direct contact with the atmosphere. The lower end of the outlet at the spouting hole flow-down side is positioned upper than the molten steel pool surface existing just after the spouting hole. Further, the spouting hole shape may be made to be a pipe-state or may arrange an inclined plate or a trough at the outlet thereof. Further, while introducing mixed gas of inert gas and hydrogen gas into the inner part of the tundish 1, the inert gas, refining flux, alloy element, etc., is blown or added into the molten steel.
