PICTURE DISPLAY AND GENERATING DEVICE

PURPOSE: To efficiently lay out and display plural picture data having free sizes in a picture display area by resolving defects of the difficulty of display of picture data having a tree size and the unbalance between display picture data and the space in the system where plural picture data are displayed in a certain area. CONSTITUTION: A means 101 where a picture file is stored, a means 103 where various conditions of the display area are stored, a means 105 which discriminates the picture layout by a preliminarily stored picture layout discrimination reference, a means 107 which calculates the optimum picture layout by a preliminarily stored optimum layout calculation method, a means 108 which constitutes a picture in accordance with the calculation result, and a means 109 which displays the constituted picture, are provided.
