Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To stabilize potential by electrification on the surface of a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION: The flat surface of the plate-like projection (tooth) 40 of a discharge electrode is arranged in parallel with the rotating direction of the photoreceptor. When external force is exerted on each tooth 40, the tooth 40 is bent in a direction orthogonal with the rotating direction of the photoreceptor, that is, a direction where it is not influenced by curvature in the circumferential direction of the photoreceptor, so that it is not largely separated from the surface of the photoreceptor and the discharge direction from the leading edge of the tooth 40 is a line nearly in parallel with the shaft direction of the photoreceptor.
