Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To easily perform calibration including measurement error inspections without requiring any external measuring instrument so as to shorten the calibrating time by connecting a test signal source to a meter by controlling the connecting section in a self-calibrating mode. CONSTITUTION: When a mode designating section 7 designates a measurement mode, a multifunctional measuring instrument A impresses a test signal upon an object MD to be measured from an output terminal 2 through a connecting section 5 by controlling a signal source section 3, meter section 4, etc., in accordance with a measuring condition from a measuring/self-calibrating condition inputting section 8. In a self-calibrating mode, on the other hand, the instrument A calibrates the designated one or more of signal sources SS1-SSi and meters M1-Mj in accordance with a self-calibrating condition from the section 8. At the time of calibrating the signal sources SS1-SSi, the output of the instrument A is connected to required meters M1-Mj through the connecting section 5. The outputs of the meters M1-Mj are processed, discriminated, and displayed by means of a processing/discriminating/displaying section 6. The calibration of the meters M1-Mj is similarly performed.
