Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To stably hold melted metal by providing a DC current supplying circuit for supplying a DC current superposed on a high-frequency coil in a metal melting and floating apparatus for holding the metal in the air. CONSTITUTION: When an AC current by an AC power source 3 and a DC current by a DC power source 9 are supplied to a high-frequency coil 2, a coil current 14 flows to the coil 2, and an alternating magnetic flux 4 superposed with a DC component magnetic flux 15 is generated in a vessel 1. An induced current 5 is inducted in the inner surface of the vessel 3 by the AC component of the flux 4, an induced current 7 is induced in the surface of the metal 6, the metal 6 is heated and melted by the Joule heat of the current 7, and the metal 6 is floated by electromagnetic repulsion force between the currents 5 and 7. Since the DC component of the flux 4 is operated to the interior of the metal 6, when the melted metal 6 flows in the direction for crossing the DC component magnetic flux 15, the induced current flows, and the synergistic action force between the induced current and the flux 15 is operated in the direction for controlling the flow.
