Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To inexpensively and simply obtain an aromatic hydrocarbon oil having a high added value such as an aromatic solvent or a gasoline additive by liquefying a flame-retardant-containing styrenic resin waste by heating and thermally decomposing to treat the waste. CONSTITUTION:A styrenic resin waste which is obtained by adding a flame retardant such as 1,2,5,6,9,10-hexabromocyclododecane of formula I, 2,2-bis(4- allyloxy-3,5-dibromo-phenyl)propane of formula II or a compound of formula III ((n) is degree of polymerization) or already contains the flame-retardant 20 is heated, liquefied and thermally decomposed in a thermal decomposition tank to treat the styrenic resin waste. The amount of the flame retardant is 0.01-15wt.%, especially 0.5-15wt.% based on the waste.
