PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PURPOSE: To reduce the area of a non-display portion to provide a plasma display panel suited for the constitution of a multiple screen by causing an externally connecting terminal for connection to display electrodes pulled out of a sealant from a pair of substrates to be drawn out onto the back of the substrates along the end of the back substrate. CONSTITUTION: The display-surface-side substrate 1a of a pair of substrates 1 is formed by a transparent glass substrate, and the back substrate 1b is constructed of a nontransparent ceramic substrate. A sealant 2 is placed around the space between the pair of substrates 1 to seal the space to form a discharging gap 11, and discharge emission gas (e.g. mixed gases of Ne and Ar) is sealed inside the gap 11. A discharge- maintaining electrode (3a) comprises a pair of transparent electrodes 31, 32 extending in X (cross) direction inside the substrate 1a and a bus electrode 33. Address electrodes 3b extend in Y direction inside the substrate 1b. An externally connecting terminal 4a is connected to the bus electrode 33, curved into an L-shape along the end of the substrate 1b, guided out onto the back of the substrate 1b, and connected to an external circuit. An external terminal 4b is also connected to a terminal 3b, curved into an L-shape along the end of the substrate 1b, guided out onto the back of the substrate 1b, and connected to the external circuit.
