NEEDLE PLATE FOR PATCHING WORK

PURPOSE: To provide the needle plate of a sewing machine which does not require patching work piece marking by making a needle fall point as a reference, providing at the needle plate patching work piece reference lines to conduct cloth positioning inclusive of a sewing-up margin, in accordance with the shapes of plural kind patchwork pieces. CONSTITUTION: A piece reference position 2 that takes up the sewing-up margin of a piece of about 7mm with a needle fall point 1 as a reference, is provided at a needle plate. In addition, on the left side of the needle plate, reference lines 3 sought from the piece reference position 2 are indicated. That is, the reference lines 3 indicate marks such as brush-written lines to fit patchwork pieces to the angles of 45 degrees, 60 degrees, 90 degrees and 120 degrees. For example, the angle line of 45 degrees corresponds to a lozenge-shaped piece, and when one end of the piece is fitted to, the sewing-up margin of about 7mm is set automatically. Also, a reference line 4 to show the sewing finish position of a piece and a reference line 5 to show a side position of cloth to prevent piece sewing from being bent and shifted, are provided.
