ULTRASONIC ECHO SOUNDER TRANSDUCER AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To provide an echo sounder transducer allowing an easy manufacture, ensuring a high performance and having the high degree of freedom for a shape by filling a gap among a plurality of vibrator elements arranged at the prescribed intervals with silicone foam of foam-setting type as a sound insulator. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of coupling recesses are formed on the upper surface of an array jig 3 at the prescribed intervals for coupling and positioning vibrator elements 1. Also, a square outer frame 5 having the same flat form as the jig 3 is superposed thereon. Furthermore, a plurality of elements 1 are coupled to respective recesses 4 on the jig 3, with the front thereof directed downward, and arranged in parallel on the jig 3 at the prescribed intervals. Then, liquid silicone foam of foam-setting type is supplied to the inside of the outer frame 5, and foamed to be hardened. As a result, an ultrasonic echo sounder transducer can be provided by taking out a compact from the frame 5. In this way, the elements 1 are positioned and fastened by molding the silicone foam 2, and this foam 2 filling each gap of the elements 1 functions as a sound insulator.
