CHARACTER RECOGNITION DEVICE

PURPOSE: To speedily process exact reading work by deciding the line of characters with kanas printed alongside (agate characters) in an opposite order from a line preceding to the final character line and deciding that the final character line and the character line preceding to the agate character line are not the agate character line. CONSTITUTION: Concerning the character lines stored in a storage part, whether it is the agate character line or not is decided in the direction of an arrow instructed by a code R oppositely from a character line L4 on the lowest stage to a character line L1 on the upper stage. When any character line is decided as the agate character line, that information is added to the storage part. Thus, the respective line are decided in reverse order R but since no agate character line comes to the final character line containing a character positioned at the end of each sentence, namely, to the final stage L4 of the sentence, the final character line L4 is processed as it is not the agate character line without receiving the agate deciding work. Besides, since the agate character line is not continued for two line, a character line L2 preceding to a character line L3 decided as the agate character line is decided as a main character line without receiving the deciding processing work.
