CONSTITUTION: As an alkali source, an alkali salt 4 such as rubidium sulfate is fixed to a filament 2. A power controller 3 controls the electric power supplied to the filament 2 from a power supply 6. Even though the rate of flow decreases along with a rise of the temp. of specimen gas sent off from a column 5 in association with a temp. rise of an oevn to heat the column 5, the temp. of the alkali salt 4 can be kept constant by changing the heating temp. of the alkali salt 4 by the filament 2. This allows preventing drift of the base line in the cheomatograph, to lead to preclusion of the quantitative determinating performance from degrading.
