STARTING DEVICE OF ENGINE

PURPOSE: To make a glow plug generate heat at large calorific value so as to start an engine smoothly by continuing the feed from a battery to the glow plug only for a predetermined time even after an output section of a starter motor leaves an input section of a crank shaft. CONSTITUTION: An output section 5 of a starter motor 3 is connected to an input section 7 of a crankshaft 6 by turning on a starter switch 2 and feeding power to the starter motor 3 and a glow plug 4 from a battery 1. When the glow plug 4 generates heat and the number of revolution of an engine exceeds a predetermined set value, the output section 5 of the starter motor 3 is separated from the input section 7 of the crankshaft 6. On the other hand, the starter motor 3 and the glow plug 4 are linked to the battery 1 through a controller 9. In this case, a timer mechanism 8 is provided between the battery 1 and the glow plug 4. Consequently, the feed from the battery l to the glow plug 4 is continued only for a predetermined time even after the output section 5 is separated from the input section 7.
