PART FOR NUCLEAR REACTOR

PURPOSE: To reduce the shadow effect generated on a zirconium alloy parts by using the stainless alloy including manganese of less than a specific density, and austenite stabilizer, and located in adjacent to the zirconium alloy parts. CONSTITUTION: The stainless alloy composition is stainless steel including manganese of very low density (about less than 0.2wt.%), and austenite stabilizer by the amount enough for preventing the martensite transformation. The stainless steel can be effectively used for various kinds of parts such as a control rod handle 22, and a poison curtain 24 of the control rod 20. The stainless steel parts can be particularly effective for the case when the stainless steel parts are used adjacent to the parts made from zirconium group alloy such as Zircaloy. The parts which can be protected by the stainless steel in a boiling water nuclear reactor, are Zircaloy fuel channel 10, Zircaloy fuel cladding tube, or the like.
