Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of chatter mark in a cold temper rolling mill for metallic strips. CONSTITUTION:Even slight chatter marks are effectively restrained by providing a sheet-face vibration restraining roll 8, its pressing force adjusting device 10 and displacement gage 20 in the vicinity on the upstream side of a tension measuring roll 2 of the temper rolling mill, measuring sheet-face vibration with the displacement gage 20 between bridle rolls 18 on the upstream side and the tension measuring roll 2 and adjusting the indentation amount of the sheet-face vibration restraining roll 8 with the pressing force adjusting device 10.
