LATHE TURNING CHIP WINDING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent a work from being damaged and also to make a lathe turning chip winding device safe for an operator,by laterally placing the rotary shaft of a rotary winding drum, and forming the external shape of the cut surface of the rotary winding dry cut by a flat surface intersecting perpendicular ly to the rotary shaft into a regular polygon shape. CONSTITUTION:A rotary shaft 6 of a rotary winding drum 5 is a lateral shaft, and the external shape of a cut surface of a drum 5 cut by a flat surface intersecting perpendicularly to this rotary shaft 6 is, for example, a regular hexagon. Moreover, the rotary shaft 6 intersects perpendicularly to the flowing direction of a chip 4 generated by lathe turning, and the chip 4 is taken out by the rotary winding drum 5 in its rotational direction. When the chip 4 discharged from the inner end of a shaft member 1 is hung on one ridge part of a regular hexahedron of the rotary winding drum 5, the chip 4 is wound and housed in a chip container 9.
