Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To suppress the usage charge (communication charge) of ISDN to a min. by reducing an unrequired frame to be transmitted to ISDN to the utmost. CONSTITUTION:An MAC bridge 3 is provided between LAN 1 and LAN 2, relays the frame in a data link layer and establishes a communication line with ISDN 2 between LAN 1 and LAN 10 of a transmission destination. The bridge 3 is provided with a high-order layer table 8 storing information concerning the protocol of a network layer in the LAN 10 of connection destination and a high-order layer checking part 7 discriminating the protocol of the network layer being high-order layer than a data link layer in the MAC frame which is received from LAN 1 and deciding whether or not the received frame is transmitted to ISDN 2 based on information stored in the high-order layer table 8.
