THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To provide a thermoplastic resin composition comprising a specific resin component, a specific aliphatic carboxylic acid, a specific silane coupling agent, etc., excellent in rigidity, impact resistance and moldability, and suitable as a raw material for moldings, etc. CONSTITUTION:This thermoplastic resin composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a resin component comprising 10-90wt.% of a polyphenylene ether resin such as poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene) ether and 90-10wt.% of an aromatic vinyl resin such as PS resin, (B) 30-70 pts.wt. of carbon fibers, (C) 0.5-20 pts.wt. of a 7-21C aliphatic carboxylic acid (e.g. octylic acid), (D) 0.01-3 pts.wt. of a silane coupling agent such as gamma-(2-aminoethyl)aminopropyltrimethoxysilane and/or a titanate coupling agent such as isopropyl tristearoyltitanate, and further preferably (E) 2-50 pts.wt. of glass fibers.
