Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To prepare a porous and hydrophilic membrane by treating a natural water-wet and hydrophilic membrane in a water solution consisting of a water- soluble polymer and an electrolyte and then vaporizing or evaporating the water which fills pores. CONSTITUTION: A hydrophilic polymer, a polymer mixture, or polymer alloys are treated in a water solution consisting of a water-soluble polymer such as polyethylene glycol and an electrolyte such as halogen compounds. Then, a hydrophilic membrane is formed, and a porous membrane is obtained by heating this hydrophilic membrane at about 40-80 deg.C and vaporizing or evaporating water which fills pores. A porous structure is maintained even in dry conditions.
