STABILIZATION OF INTERLEUKIN-1BETA COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To stabilize an interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta) composition by adding a human serum albumin. CONSTITUTION:IL-1beta active substance is stabilized by incorporating IL-1beta active substance with 0.1-10mg (based on 1mug of the IL-1beta active substance) of human serum albumin, thereby preventing the adsorption of IL-1beta active substance to the wall of vessel. The adsorption preventing effect and the stabilizing effect of the composition are further improved preferably by adding 1-100mg of a sugar (especially sucrose) and 0.001-0.1mg of a fatty acid glyceride (e.g. polyoxyethylene glycol sorbitan alkyl ester) based on 1mug of the IL-1beta active substance. It is further preferable to add a buffering solution of pH4-8 or thereabout, preferably pH5-6 such as citric acid-sodium citrate solution, acetic acid- sodium acetate solution or citric acid-borax solution to prepare a stable isotonic preparation. This composition can be effectively applied as an immunostimulation agent for the promotion of antibody production and effect of vaccine and the treatment of immunoinsufficiency, an antitumor agent, an agent for promoting the production of cytokinins, an anti-inflammatory agent, a radiation injury prevention agent, an agent for the treatment of opportunistic infectious diseases, etc.
