Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To form an in-node communication facility which is limited in visibility from the outside in a packet exchange network by providing sub-nodes containing all control point functions in the node of the packet exchange network. CONSTITUTION: In a sub-node provided in the node of a network, the headers of packets arriving from an outside node, a user outgoing and the other subnode through transmission adapters 24-26, application adapters 20-24, and in-node adapters 14-16 are inspected on a bus 23. A control point(CP) 27 makes the communication path efficiency maximum by deciding the optimum route through the network by calculating the route by using the information obtained as a result of the inspection. Therefore, the communication between two user applications in the network node can become possible and a large quantity of traffic can be transported without allowing any transmission facility nor node facility to occupy a transmission path.
