FLAME-RESISTANT POLYCARBONATE RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain the resin composition for a precision machinery, etc., excellent in shock resistance, heat resistance, dimensional resistance and retention- heat resistance by compounding a polycarbonate resin with a specifically modified epoxy resin, containing halogen and having a relatively high molecular weight, at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The flame-resistant polycarbonate resin composition excellent in retention-heat resistance on molding, shock resistance, heat resistance and dimensional stability and suitable for a precision machinery, an office automation instrument, an electronic part, etc., is obtained by compounding 100 pts.wt. of a polycarbonate resin with 30-50 pts.wt. of a modified epoxy resin containing halogen expressed by formula I {R1 and R3 are glycidyl, hydroxyl or group of formula II [R4 is lower alkyl; Y is halogen; (r) and (s) are 0-5; (r)+(s) is integer of =21} followed by pelletizing with an extruder.
