PRODUCTION OF PLASTIC COMPOUND AND PLASTIC FILLER BOTH HAVING ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTY AND ANTIFUNGAL PROPERTY AND PRODUCTION OF PLASTIC PRODUCT HAVING ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTY AND ANTIFUNGAL PROPERTY

PURPOSE:To provide a plastic product retaining excellent antibacterial properties and antifungal properties over long. CONSTITUTION:A plastic compound and/or plastic filler (A) each having a coating of silver and/or silver oxide and having antibacterial properties and antifungal properties. A process which comprises immersing a plastic compound and/or plastic filler in an aqueous solution of both tin (II) chloride and hydrochloric acid, washing the plastic ingredient with water, immersing the washed plastic ingredient in an aqueous solution of silver nitrate, washing the resulting plastic ingredient with water, and then drying it to produce the ingredient (A). A process which comprises incorporating the ingredient (A) into a plastic material and molding the mixture to produce the desired plastic product, which has a silver and/or silver oxide content of 0.2-1.5% (in terms of silver amount).
