MEDICAL MATERIAL IMMOBILIZED WITH SUBTILISIN

PURPOSE:To obtain the medical material with which an antithrombotic property is stably maintained by immobilizing subtilisin to the surface of a base material. CONSTITUTION:This medical material is produced by immobilizing the subtilisin to the surface of the base material. Org. high-polymer materials and inorg. materials, etc., usable for medical implements are used as the base material for immodilizing the subtilisin. A covalent bond is preferably used for immobilizing the subtilisin to the surface of the substrate. While this medical material has the excellent antithrombotic property, this antithrombotic property is exhibited when the fibrin mass formed by a blood clotting action is dissolved in the subtilisin having an fibrin dissolution activity. The excellent antithrombotic property is maintained in the medical material immobilized with the subtilisin and, therefore, the material is adequate as materials for medical implements, etc., to be used in contact with blood.
