Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a small and simple sample container rotary unit in which the rotating force is transmitted positively to a sample container even from a drive source of low torque. CONSTITUTION:The sample container rotary unit P1 is comprised of a sample rack 2 for holding a sample container 1 substantially vertically, an intermittent motion belt conveyor 20, an arm member 3 disposed above the sample container 1, a rotary member 3 disposed on the under side at the left end part of the arm member 3, and a hand member 5 rotatable along with the rotary member 4. The sample container rotary unit P1 further comprises a coupling means 8 coupled with the hand member 5, a first drive means 9 for rotating the hand member 5 through the coupling means 8, a second drive means 10 for rotating the rotary member 4, and means 11 for controlling the first and second drive means 9, 10.
