Laser distance meters d1, d2 are then shifted close to the center of the thick part of flange Xf of the H-steel and laser distance meters d3, d4 are aligned with the breadthwise center of the flange Xf. When the distance meters d1-d4 are positioned in such manner, dimensions of the H-steel X transferred 30 on a rolling line can be measured continuously by adding or subtracting the measurements of the distance meters d1-d4 by means of an operating unit. |
