DIMENSION MEASURING EQUIPMENT FOR TRANSFER LINE

PURPOSE:To allow accurate and continuous dimensional measurement while preventing trouble by making an online rail movable up and down by means of an elevating/lowering unit and providing a truck with a unit for moving it horizontally. CONSTITUTION:When the dimensions of an H-steel are measured, a motor 3 is rotated to ascend an online rail 6 through a coupling shaft 2 and screw jacks 1a, 1b thus making the track 6 and off-line tracks 7, 8 height. Subsequently, motors 13, 23 are operated to rotate wheels 12a, 22a thus moving C-type trucks 10, 20 on the track 6 along the off-line tracks 7, 8. Laser distance meters d1, d2 are then shifted close to the center of the thick part of flange Xf of the H-steel and laser distance meters d3, d4 are aligned with the breadthwise center of the flange Xf. When the distance meters d1-d4 are positioned in such manner, dimensions of the H-steel X transferred 30 on a rolling line can be measured continuously by adding or subtracting the measurements of the distance meters d1-d4 by means of an operating unit.
