Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent the slag deposited on the bottom of a coal gasifying chamber from scattering. CONSTITUTION:Pulverized coal and a gasifying agent are injected from a coal burner 32 so that a swirl may be formed in a vertically extending cylindrical gasifying chamber 32. This chamber 32 is provided with a slug scattering preventing blade 42 which interrupts a vertical flow to prevent the slag deposited on a slag tap plate 34 from scattering upward and is in position over the plate 34 forming the bottom of the chamber 32, below the coal burner 38 and in the center of the swirl.
