REMOTE CONTROL TRANSMITTER

PURPOSE:To obtain a remote control transmitter having a disc-like switch which is simple in its structure, does not occupy much space and is inexpensive. CONSTITUTION:This transmitter is provided within optical switch 1 provided with a light emitting body and a photoreceiving body, and a disc-like switch 2 having a first interruption part of a wide range and a second interruption part c of a narrow range which are arranged between the light emitting body and the photodetecting body of the optical switch 1 and are for interrupting the light emission from the light emitting body and having a first slit part d of a wide range and a second slit part b of a narrow range for letting the light emission from the light emitting body pass to the photodetecting body. As the timing of the on/off of the optical switch 1 is different by the rotation direction of the disc-like switch 2, different pulse trains are generated and the rotation direction can be discriminated.
