Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To allow accurate measurement of short distance through a simple constitution without requiring any special optical component. CONSTITUTION:A pulsed laser light is projected through a single lens optical system and the reflected pulsed laser light is received by a light receiver 6 through a shutter 7. The shutter 7 is closed for a predetermined time at the output timing of pulsed laser light. Consequently, the light reflected on a compositional optical component of the single lens optical system is prevented from leaking into the light receiver 6 which thereby produces an output signal sustained at dark level. Upon elapse of a predetermined time after output of pulsed laser light, the shutter 7 opens to pass the light and the reflected pulse laser light arrives at the light receiver 6.
