METHOD OF DETECTING DEGREE OF EROSION ON BOTTOM PART OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE:To take an action appropriate for protecting the bottom part of a blast furnace by determining a cause of increasing the temperature of the bottom part in accordance with variations in the distribution of resistance values of bricks. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of electrodes are embedded in bricks with which the bottom part and bottom side wall parts 3 of a blast furnace are built, and resistance values between the bricks are measured. In accordance with a distribution of resistance values obtained from the measured values, the penetration of molten steel into joints between the bricks, damage to the bricks themselves and the like are measured. Accordingly, an action appropriately coping with a cause increasing the temperature of the bottom part can be taken, thereby it is possible to protect the bottom part of the furnace without causing an unstable condition of the furnace.
