Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To produce a highly corrosion resistant suspension spring where the occurrence of pitting corrosion in prevented the contact part between spring materials has been prevented and which has excellent corrosion resistance of coating. CONSTITUTION:In the suspension spring manufacturing method by passing through a series of stages consisting of soaking treatment, cold forming, tempering, stress peening, chemical conversion treatment, coating, baking, etc., the surface of at least a part of a spring steel material before cold forming is brush-plated with zinc and a series of spring manufacturing stages is done. A series of spring manufacturing stages can be used without alteration, and corrosion resistance in the contact part between suspension spring materials in a salt damage environment can be improved and a marked effect of preventing the occurrence of the origin of breakage can be produced. By using brush plating, the necessity of the conventional immersion electrolytic bath can be obviated, and further, in the case where the part to be brush-plated is limited within a particularly small part, the effect of cost reduction, with respect to equipment and stages, is extremely great.
