APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INSPECTING IMAGE

PURPOSE:To perform inspection accurately and quickly by dividing the image of a body under inspection into a plurality of blocks, obtaining the maximum value and the minimum value of lightness for every block, and comparing the values with those of a reference image. CONSTITUTION:The image, which is picked up by a camera 5, is stored in an image memory 13. Then, the image is divided into a plurality of blocks by an window setting part 15. A lightness detecting part 18 detects the maximum lightness and the minimum lightness for every block. A lightness comparing part 20 compares the maximum lightness and the minimum lightness with the reference maximum lightness and the reference minimum lightness, which are stored in a reference lightness memory 19 beforehand, respectively. A judging part 21 judges the good product on the basis of the result of the comparison and outputs the result of the judgment to the outside through an input/output part 22.
