PAPER SHEET HANDLING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To eliminate the occurrence of carrying abnormality or the like of a paper sheet, and operate a device efficiently by arranging a separate condition detecting means to detect the occurrence of a delivery error or duplicate feed when the paper sheet is delivered and separated and a delivery speed control means to control delivery speed according to information of the separate condition detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A length of time when a bill passes through sensors 15a and 15b is found from output of the sensors 15a and 15b by a separate condition detecting circuit 24, and operation is carried out on skew of the bill. By operation, a delivery error of the bill and a turbulence quantity of a carrying period are found from the timing in which the bill is fed. A delivery roller speed control circuit 25 changes rotational speed of a delivery roller driving motor 29 according to information to show an after-separated bill carrying condition obtained from the separate condition detecting circuit 24. When the after- separated bill carrying condition gets worse, the rotational speed is shifted to the low speed side. When the carrying condition is stabilized, after separation is carried out by the prescribed number, the rotational speed is restored again to the former high speed side, and the separation is carried out.
