Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a treating method for the surface of the subject moldnng whereby a nondefective plated article with an excellent appearance without roughness due to etching can be obtd. even from a resin article stained with oil or hand grease. CONSTITUTION:In the pretreatment process for plating, a polyphenylene ether- polyamide alloy resin molding is subjected to a surface treatment which comprises three successive steps: the step of etching with an aq. hydrochloric acid soln., the step of degreasing with an aq. surfactant soln., and the step of again etching with an aq. hydrochloric acid soln.
