DESIGNING METHOD OF MICROSTRUCTURE OF CERAMIC MATERIAL AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To easily develop a ceramic material having high strength and high functions by designing the microstructure of a ceramic material containing columnar particles by combining processes to obtain information of the microstructure, to obtain information showing strength characteristics, to obtain information for prediction, and to design so that a specified effect can be obtd. CONSTITUTION:This designing method of the microstructure of a ceramic material containing columnar particles consists of the processes (A) to (D) as shown below. (A) The information of the microstructure is obtd. based on the information showing the microstructure of the ceramic material containing columnar particles which have correlation with strength characteristics. The information includes such information showing the distribution state of particle size of the ceramic material containing columnar particles, showing the state of columnar particles and showing the amt. of the intergranular phase. (B) The information showing the strength characteristics of the ceramic material containing colunmar particles is obtd. (C) The information to predict the relation between the strength characteristics and the microstructure of the ceramic material containing columnar particles is obtd. (D) The ceramic material containing columnar particles is designed.
