Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain an antimicrobial gypsum product at a low cost which is nontoxic, has an antimicrobial effect, mildewproof effect and decomposing effect for org. matter, shows little coloring or discoloring, and can easily be handled, by mixing zinc oxide fine particles in gypsum. CONSTITUTION:Gypsum of 55-99wt.% and 50-1wt.% zinc oxide fine particles having =19.5m /g specific surface area are supplied in a container having a large opening and mixed, to which water is added to obtain a slurry. If necessary, a peroxide condensate metal ion soln. is added to the gypsum slurry. The peroxide condensate metal ion soln. is prepared by allowing one or more kinds selected from among gold, silver, copper, zinc, tin, aluminum, nickel, cobalt, manganese, vanadium, molybdenum, tungsten, boron and oxides of these to react with hydrogen peroxide or allowing these metals or metal salts to react with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of palladium chloride. Further, by using boric acid when the peroxide condensate metal ion is produced, the antimicrobial effect can be further improved.
