MEDIUM SEPARATING AND PAPER FEEDING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent the increase in the torque of a driving source which is caused by the adhesion of the deposited media to be fed at one time, reduce the price of a device, prevent the reduction in number of the deposited media where the stable separation and feeding can be secured, and improve the media storing capacity of the device. CONSTITUTION:In a media separating and feeding mechanism to separate and feed the deposited media from the bottom one by one, the media 1 are deposited, and then, a pick-up roller 10 is operated in an idling manner before the media 1 is pressed against the pick-up roller 10 by a pressure plate 11. A sensor 14 to detect the position of the vertically moving pick-up roller 10 is provided, and when the pick-up roller 10 is elevated above the appropriate position for the stable delivery by the sensor 14, a pressure driving means to drive the vertical movement of the pressure plate 11 is driven to move the pressure plate 11, and the pick-up roller 10 is returned to the appropriate position by this movement.
