WASH DEVICE OF VEHICLE END SURFACE AND WASH METHOD

PURPOSE:To provide sufficient wash effect in regard to the front and the rear of a vehicle without damaging parts such as wipers by putting the vehicle into a stop position on tracks, making wash devices move and detect the positions of the end surfaces of the vehicle thus stopped. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle 2 is stopped so that the end surface 4 of the vehicle 2 may be positioned within the predetermined section A of tracks 3, and then, wash devices 1 are made to move and approach by means of travel trucks 6 to the vehicle 2, and the position of the end surface 4 is detected by means of a detecting means 50, and washing is commenced by turning a turning shaft 32 and extending brush arms 42, 43 into the tracks 3 and making a rotary brush 46 butt against the vehicle end surface 4. Washing is conducted by the turning of the turning shaft 32 at a fixed speed and the slide-contact of the rotary brush 46 with the vehicle end surface 4. Also, by detecting the turning angle theta of the turning shaft 32 by means of a control means, making the travel trucks 6 retreat at a predetermined speed in regard to the end surface 4 of the vehicle 2 according to the turning angle theta, and making the rotary brush 46 retain a distance between its shaft center and the vehicle end surface 4 approximately fixed, the washing of the vehicle end surface 4 is conducted.
