Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve the feeling of acceleration at the time of increasing a speed by providing a speed increasing setting means for adding a predetermined speed increasing value to a large value out of an actual travel speed and a target speed to change the target speed when a speed increasing command signal is generated from a signal generating means. CONSTITUTION:When a resume acceleration switch 4 is operated, an actual travel speed is compared with a target speed stored in a RAM and a predetermined speed increasing value (Vkm/h) is added to the larger one of them and the sum is stored in the RAM as a target speed. When the resume acceleration switch is continuously operated, the target speed is gradually increased as time elapses and therefore, a very small fixed value alpha (km/h) is added to the target speed stored in the RAM to renew the target speed. Since this processing is performed during a period of time when the resume acceleration switch 4 is operated, the fixed value alpha (km/h) is continuously added to the target speed and a vehicle is accelerated with the addition and renewal of the target speed.
